What are you inking with currently? The line quality looks a little different (though it may just be from the angle/emotion of the piece)... looks good, just curious what you've used...
For the more clean, animated looking stuff, I generally use a combination of pens (Microns and Faber-Castell) for the linework, and a brush for heavy shadow work like the background stuff. Nothing fancy, really.

i love the difference from ideation to completion... it basically takes on all new character and emotion.
